OCAD, I hear, sucks your soul. Apparently it's just not a very creative and open environment. I'd go for Concordia since the Montreal art scene is really good. Zine fairs and a strong art community. Also, I don't know what the program is like at Concordia, but you might get the chance to take courses in other areas of interest which is nice!
It makes me so happy that someone else is going into art! And architecture sounds fun! I am in my 3rd year and I can't decide if I want to get an MFA or not. If I do, I am going somewhere far away, I think.
that’s really useful to know, though i was sort of getting into it hahah. there’s a ton of factors playing into the choice, i don’t know how i will choose. i have my audition for ocad on the 24th so i’ll see the school and all that then. yeah concordia has a mandatory minor in anything, i’ll probably go with philosophy. i will put out a larger question to all of tumblr after i get acceptance/denail letters, but anyone who attends either school and happens to read this, i’d love some input!
somewhere far away is nice. i’m really hoping to do study abroad programs wherever i go.
Sorry for all the questions today! Are you going off to school next year? Anywhere fun?
it’s fine! i am going off to school at either concordia or ocad. i’ve decided to continue with my art education and get my BFA with a major in sculpture before i go for my masters in architecture at either UofT or ubc.
yay, there’s seven-eight years of my life in a sentence.
would you ever, or perhaps, have you ever, considered creating a personal style blog or is the notionof one too pretentious and inherently vain? well, is it though? I don't know. Needless to say, I am curious about your personal style seeing as I find the aesthetic on your tumblr very pleasing.
i’ve given it a moment’s thought, but i don’t see myself ever creating one. i don’t think they’re always pretentious. i think it takes confidence to able to say fuck em when you put yourself out there day after day in the outfits and clothes you so dearly love and subject yourself to the insanely harsh criticism you’re unavoidably going to receive. that’s not to say i don’t have balls, just sticking up for the ol’ fashion bloggers out there. meh, a fashion blog is just a shit load of work and yet another commitment i don’t need. i appreciate your curiosity though, thank you.
Do you really think that? A lot of people, when experimenting with psychedelics should use Shrooms first, it’s not as “heavy.” Acid, peyote, etc are what I call soul-searchers, door openers. For someone who is a beginning user (unless having the calling to open the door and not a recreational user) should go straight for the ‘Cid. But with trips like that having never experienced it before might have a negative ride, and not know how to handle it.
Different strokes for different folks, I assume.
Yes, I completely agree with you, and glad I didn’t make that mistake. But my curiosity level is expanding and widening.
shrooms can be incredibly “heavy”. i’ve easily had more profound and more torturous experiences on shrooms compared to my experiences on acid (i’m talking relatively similar and moderate-big doses, eg 8-9 grams of mushrooms vs 5-6 tabs of acid). shrooms, in my experience, can drag you through the most grueling depths of hellfire if you’re not ready to let go. of course set and setting play an immense role in the journey, but on the whole, i’d say you can’t tell someone to do shrooms before acid or vice versa. really, my advice would be to consider which you feel more in tune with: Mother Earth or fellow man. if the former, go with shrooms; if the latter, go with acid.
as for peyote, i would agree and recommend you do mushrooms first, assuming the mescaline you’re consuming is extracted as supposed to synthetic. imo, stay away from the synthetic stuff.
